Susanne’s Pictures of Bern’s Münster Cathedral
On March 16th 1421 begins the work on the cathedral Muenster . The master builder of the cathedral, Matthaeus Ensinger, from Ulm began with the construction by stonewalling the already existing Romanic town church of 1280. Only around 1450 the old church inside the developed Muenster was torn off. With several interruptions, the Muenster was finished 1596 except the tower . The tower is established only 300 years later. On 25 November 1893 the stone-cutters set the conclusion building block. The Muenster achieves a height of 100m.
